Janina J. Janovski, a native of Poland and a Baltimore area language teacher since 1984, died of cancer Wednesday at her Cockeysville home. She was 45.

Mrs. Janovski, who spoke five languages, began teaching in 1976 in Poland and four years later moved to Germany, where she taught for two more years.

She moved to Maryland in 1982 and taught French at Mercy High School from 1984 to 1986, the Talmudical Academy of Baltimore from 1989 to 1991 and Cockeysville Middle School from 1991 to 1992.

She also taught at Parkville High School from 1991 to 1996, when health problems forced her to retire.

The former Janina Stoszek married Joseph Janovski in 1977.

A Mass of Christian burial was offered Saturday.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Alexander Janovski of Cockeysville; a daughter, Elizabeth Janovski of Cockeysville; her father, Albin Stoszek, and a brother, Marian Stoszek, both of Poland.
