New positions

Verner named senior v.p. at Sunburst Hospitality

Sunburst Hospitality Corp. has appointed Douglas H. Verner to the positions of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. A law graduate of the University of Oregon and a 14-year hotel industry veteran, he most recently was executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Chartwell Leisure Inc.

Coleman to head ACSI corporate development

American Communications Services Inc., a provider of integrated communications, named Gregory I. Coleman director of corporate development for the Annapolis Junction firm. He will help ACSI in redefining its strategies to achieve sales and marketing goals.

A graduate of Northwestern University, he formerly was a management consultant with Arthur D. Little.

Admiral Fell Inn names Taylor executive chef

Admiral Fell Inn named Robert Taylor executive chef of Hamilton's, its newly opened restaurant. Formerly with the Milton Inn in Baltimore County, the award-winning chef has prepared meals for the king of Spain and other notables.

The Bel Air resident received his training at the Baltimore International Culinary College.

Stepanian to manage teams at Weinberg Harris

Weinberg Harris & Associates appointed Mary-Margaret Stepanian an account manager. She will manage the account teams of the Pikesville firm and develop integrated marketing and community affairs programs.

A graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, the Homeland resident is active with the House of Ruth and Sail Baltimore.

Siquis appoints Katzen management supervisor

Siquis Ltd., the Hampden advertising agency, appointed Seth J. Katzen a management supervisor. Formerly director of public affairs for the Maryland State Lottery, the University of Maryland graduate lives in Stevenson and is active with the Jewish Big Brother League and the Terrapin Club.

Worker fund names Horvath executive vice president

The Injured Workers Insurance Fund named Doreen A. Horvath executive vice president and chief operating officer. She will have oversight responsibility for underwriting, claims, loss control and premium audit. The Moravian College graduate comes to the Towson-based workers' compensation insurer from Travelers Insurance Co., where she was the officer in charge of its Midwest region.

Items should include a description of job responsibilities and professional, personal and educational background of the appointee.

A nonreturnable photo, with subject's name, title and company printed on its back and attached to the release, may be included. Include name and phone number of a contact person.
