"Delaware Park is the only track that has indicated it will add any," Strine said. "And it's talking about adding them in stages, maybe starting with 200 and seeing how that goes before adding more."

Miscellaneous

As part of the 25th-anniversary celebration of Secretariat's Triple Crown, a traveling display of trophies, racing silks, memorabilia, a video presentation and an interactive kiosk will grace the grounds of Pimlico from after the Kentucky Derby on May 2 to the running of the Preakness on May 16. The display will also appear at Churchill Downs, Belmont Park, the National Museum of Racing and Kentucky Horse Park. The Daily Racing Form and Equibase Co. announced last week that they have reached an agreement that will standardize racing statistics and eliminate the redundancy and occasional discrepancy of both companies charting races. Now, workers for Equibase collect information for track programs, and workers for the Form collect data for their daily racing publication. The deal will result in the streamlining of both companies. Atlantic City Race Course has asked the New Jersey Racing Commission for permission to cut this summer's meet from 30 to five days, May 26-30. The track, which is seeking permission to build a car-racing oval, would like to cease horse racing after that, but continue offering betting on simulcasts.
