A fire at the State Hospital for the Colored Insane at Crownsville completely destroyed a large barn and damaged several smaller buildings and fields. Neighbors for miles around aided the Annapolis fire companies. -- The Sun, March 1, 1923.

Summer temperature came to Anne Arundel County yesterday with the temperature in places reaching 78 degrees. The normal temperature is 37 degrees. -- The Sun, March 4, 1923.

Due to a shortage of commissioned officers in the battle fleet, some 205 of the Naval Academy June graduates will be detailed to duty with first-line ships. The Navy is short 1,300 commissioned officers of its normal force. -- The Sun, March 7, 1923.

Motohiko Takasaki of Japan graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy 28 years ago. Yesterday his son, Baron Takasaki, a sub-lieutenant in the Japanese navy, made a courtesy inspection of the academy. -- The Sun, March 27, 1923.
