"The story of "Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters" by John Steptoe is about two daughters being invited to the king's party. He wanted to choose the most worthy. I like the story because one daughter thought she was going to be queen and treated her sister badly. The king could change into many things. He was testing the two daughters. Read the book and find out what happened."

"I loved the book "The Kids in Mrs. Colman's Class Holiday Time," by Ann M. Martin. It is a good book because these two girls have to make Kwanzaa food and one of the girl's food explodes. It is also very funny and at the end you learn a lesson about friendship."

Kate Martin, Grade 3, Bel Air Elementary
