Thunder tonight

March 13, 1998

Opponent: Ontario Raiders

Site: Copps Coliseum, Hamilton, Ontario

Time: 8

Outlook: The Thunder (6-2), tied for second in the National Lacrosse League with Rochester, can clinch its first playoff berth since 1993 with a victory over the Raiders. Baltimore's playoff run comes on the heels of last year's 2-8 finish in the now-defunct Major Indoor Lacrosse League. Gary Gait leads the Thunder and the league in scoring and his 42 goals leave him five shy of the single-season record set by his twin brother, Paul, in 1991. Thunder goalie Derek Collins leads the NLL in shots faced (385) and is first in wins with six. Ontario (3-5) bowed to the Thunder in overtime in their first meeting. Tim Hormes provided the game-winner.
