Fifth-grader enjoys drawing, bike riding and science fiction Student of the Week

March 11, 1998

To show students that doing well can bring them recognition, the Citizens Advisory Committee of Quarterfield Elementary School has asked The Sun to help publicize its Student of the Week honor. Winners of the honor must write about themselves.

"Hi. My name is Stephanie Jane Boyer, and I am in the 5th grade at Quarterfield Elementary. I live in Glen Burnie, Maryland, with my mother, my father and my two younger brothers. Some of my hobbies are bike riding, reading books and drawing. I have a favorite novel, which is a "Star Wars" novel called "The Truce at Bakura." I'm good at writing and riding my bike.

"One thing I want everyone to know about me is that I am a science fiction fanatic, especially with "Star Wars." I like many musicals, especially "Annie" and "Grease." When I grow up I want to be in the medical profession, like a doctor or a nurse."
