GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Suffering from the effects of a weeklong battle with the flu, Duke guard Steve Wojciechowski fainted in the shower after yesterday's 83-68 loss to North Carolina in the championship game of the ACC tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Several dozen reporters were interviewing the Blue Devils in their steamy, cramped locker room when a thud was heard in the adjacent shower area.

Forward Roshown McLeod, one of several players in the shower with Wojciechowski at the time, called for Duke's medical staff, and the reporters were ordered out of the locker room.

"Steve became dehydrated from the effects of the flu. He was a little woozy, but he never lost consciousness," Duke team physician Kevin Speer said in a statement released by the school's sports information department. "He needed IV fluids to be administered. He will go back on the team bus."

The former Cardinal Gibbons High star from Severna Park played only 28 minutes in Duke's defeat. The senior scored three points, taking six three-point shots and making one.

He also had five assists, tying Carolina's Ed Cota for game-high honors, and three turnovers.
