No. 6 Bowie ousted by Francis Marion in region final, 62-52

Freshman Damita Bullock scored 22 points and No. 11 Francis Marion used a 15-0 run midway through the second half tTC to upset sixth-ranked Bowie State, 62-52, in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region title game last night in Florence, S.C.

Sophomore Chiffonia Adderson added 16 points for the Patriots (29-2).

Senior Tarsha Wilson led Bowie State (28-2) with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Bowie State took a 24-23 lead on a three-pointer by Denay Fields with eight seconds left in the first half.

The Bulldogs opened their largest lead at 30-25 with 16: 32 left in the second half, but Francis Marion's Jennifer Puckett (11 points) hit back-to-back three-pointers for a 31-30 Patriots edge.

Baltimore City CC 61, Frederick CC 60: Sherry Cofield scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Baltimore City Community College (26-5) in a JuCo Region XX semifinal.
