Man in a cab in Freetown is arrested and charged with purchasing drugs

A Glen Burnie man who was out of a car and out of luck Thursday took a cab to Freetown and was arrested on drug charges after police got a tip that he was buying drugs in the community.

County police said a bicyclist told a patrol officer someone in a cab was buying drugs about 8: 30 p.m.

The officer stopped the cab and searched the passenger. The cab driver told the officer to look in the man's socks for drugs. Police said the officer found a small amount of crack cocaine with a street value of $20. Police seized the drugs and $30 of the man's money and arrested him.

Ricky Lee Jenkins, 35, of the 200 block of Woodhill Drive was charged with possession of crack cocaine.
