March 08, 1998|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A 19-year-old man flew into a rage in a Northwest Baltimore house last night and stabbed his great-grandparents and his mother after they refused his demand for money, police said.

The victims were being treated at area hospitals last night, and police said two were in critical condition, although further information was unavailable.

The suspect was taken into custody at the home in the 3400 block of Copley Road, police said.

Charges are pending in the incident, which happened about 8 p.m. when the 19-year-old -- whose name wasn't released -- confronted his relatives about money he needed, police said. When they refused to give him cash, he stabbed them, police said.

Police said the man had been barred from the home because of earlier problems but returned shortly before the argument began.

Police did not release the names of the victims, two of whom are in their 80s, late last night.
