Tri-Churches Housing offers homebuying classes

Tri-Churches Housing is offering a free, three-part Homebuyer Education Class at 6: 30 p.m. Thursday and March 19 and 26 in the upper hall of St. Jerome's Head Start Center, 765 W. Hamburg St.

The sessions are designed to give participants an opportunity to meet with industry professionals and receive information on the homebuying process.

Topics include working with a Realtor, how to tell the condition of a home, getting grants for closing costs, qualifying for a loan, appraisals and settlements.

8 Maryland properties to be sold at auction

Four lots in Anne Arundel County are among eight Maryland properties to be sold at auction today and Thursday by Property Auctions Inc.

Houses slated for auction today are 6000 Seabrook Road, Seabrook; 12819 Ninth Street, Bowie; 4923 Lackawanna Street, College Park; and 950 East West Highway, Takoma Park.

Four lots totaling 25.2 acres in Harwood in Anne Arundel County will be sold at absolute auction, with no minimum bid. Parcels 207, 217, 275 and 276 on Sudley Road are scheduled for absolute auction Thursday. The lots range in size from 5 acres to 7.6 acres and can be purchased individually or in combination.

Realtors to hold seminar on foreclosure buying

"Buying Property at Foreclosure" is the title of a free seminar scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Bibelot in the Harford Mall Annex on Boulton Street in Bel Air.

A panel of Realtors will discuss buying HUD homes, investment properties, financing, short cuts to finding properties, contracts, settlement procedures and 203(k) rehab loans.

Lederer appointed to builders position

Scott Lederer, regional manager of the new home marketing service at O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA, was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland.

Based in his firm's Mount Airy office, Lederer is a member of the Carroll and Harford county associations of Realtors. He holds a bachelor of arts from Loyola College.

Harbel Housing sponsors workshop for home sellers

Harbel Housing Partnership is sponsoring a free workshop for home sellers at 6: 30 p.m. March 18 at the Perry Hall Library, 9400 Belair Road.
