Spillover effect: With the nation's overall job market remaining tight, the people who help companies find new employees are in just as much demand as the job-seekers themselves. The

consulting firm Manchester Partners surveyed companies across the country and found that the number of job openings for recruitment professionals almost doubled in 1997 from the previous year.

So, what's for dinner? It's 4 p.m., and nearly three-fourths of Americans have no idea what they'll be having for dinner, finds Restaurants & Institutions magazine. In a survey, the magazine learned that more than half the respondents don't choose what and where they eat until between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
