No. 6 Hopkins deals Denver 19-8 defeat O'Kelly's 4 goals help Jays even record at 1-1

Matt O'Kelly scored a career-best four goals and added two assists to help No. 6 Johns Hopkins to a 19-8 win over the University of Denver before 522 at Homewood Field last night. The Blue Jays (1-1) outshot the Pioneers, 58-29.

Dylan Schlott tied his career high with four goals for Hopkins. Blue Jays goalkeeper Brian Carcaterra played just the first half and made four saves, allowing two goals.

No. 8 Duke 20, Boston College 2: John Fay, who was shut out against Maryland on Saturday, scored five goals and added three assists as the host Blue Devils (1-1) routed the Eagles (0-2). Duke jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead, holding Boston JTC College scoreless for the game's first 36: 40.

Drexel 14, Mount St. Mary's 11: Todd Snellenburg had four goals to pace the Dragons (2-0) over the visiting Mountaineers (0-2). Nick DeFelice and Steve Ricker each scored three goals for the Mount.

Salisbury State 16, St. Mary's 5: Peter Troup scored five goals as the host Sea Gulls (1-0) handled the Seahawks (0-1) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Goucher 12, Franklin & Marshall 2: Tim Asher scored five goals as the Gophers (1-0) topped the visiting Diplomats (0-1). Goucher broke open a 2-1 game by ending the first half with a 4-0 run.
