Manchester man charged in armed robbery

A Manchester man is being held on $75,000 bail at the Carroll County Detention Center after being arrested on charges of robbing a pizza deliveryman at gunpoint Tuesday, court records show.

James R. Gordon Jr., 21, was arrested on charges of assault, first- and second-degree robbery and use of a handgun in committing a felony after the incident in the 3000 block of Main St. in Manchester about 8: 15 p.m.

Wade K. Corder, employed by Poppy's Pizza in Greenmount Station, told police he was returning from a delivery when he stopped on Main Street to talk to a friend, who was with two other men.

One of the men pulled out a small chrome-plated automatic, demanded his money and ordered him to leave, he said.


Manchester: Firefighters responded at 9: 52 a.m. Tuesday to a carbon monoxide alarm in the 2900 block of Park Ave. Units were out 20 minutes.

Hampstead: Firefighters responded at 9: 56 a.m. Tuesday to a fire alarm in the 1100 block of Caton Road.
