In leading the No. 7 Gators to the Catholic League Tournament championship, King averaged 19.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in victories over Mercy, John Carroll and St. Frances, all ranked teams. The sophomore guard also had 21 points in a win over then-No. 10 Milford Mill.

Sloan, a junior, won state titles in the 3,200 (11 minutes, 54.8 seconds) and 1,600 (5: 21.6) meter runs at the Class 3A/4A state championship meet at the Fifth Regiment Armory one week after pulling off the same feat in the region championship.

Yinger, ranked second in the state, won his third title at 135 pounds at the 1A/2A West Regionals with his 8-3 decision over Jesse Shimrock of Northern-Garrett. A three-time Carroll County champ, the senior has twice placed third at the state tournament.
