Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Northeastern District

Rape: A warrant has been issued charging Joseph Jefferson, 26, of the 3100 block of Montebello Terrace with raping and assaulting a woman in his home Tuesday. Jefferson allegedly forced a woman into his car in the 2500 block of Harford Road, said Detective Richard Petrey of the sex squad. The woman was treated at Mercy Medical Center.

Western District

Officer assaulted/arrest: Officer Yolanda Jones was assaulted Monday when she ordered a woman to stop loitering in the 2200 block of W. North Ave. Jones was struck in the chest and shoulder but did not require medical treatment. Charged with assaulting a police officer was Audrey M. McNeal, 31, of the 2100 block of Clifford St.

Assault: Several men struck a man in the face, body and head with their fists Monday night at North and Braddish avenues. As the victim drove away, the men threw rocks and bottles at the car, breaking the windshield and a headlight.

Southwestern District

Rape: Police were seeking a man who raped a 13-year-old girl in a house in the 200 block of S. Franklintown Road on Sunday night or Monday morning. The girl was treated at Mercy Medical Center.

Southern District

Assault/arrest: A 24-year-old man was in the first block of E. Randall St. on Monday when a man armed with a board studded with nails struck him several times with the weapon. The victim refused medical treatment. Police later arrested a suspect.

Robbery/shooting: Two teen-age males were in the 300 block of S. Fulton Ave. about 7 p.m. Monday when a gunman robbed one of them of a gold ring valued at $200. When the second youth told the gunman he had no money, the gunman shot him in the stomach. The wounded youth was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday. No arrest had been made.

North Point Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered the fenced-in parking lot of Ryder Truck Rental & Leasing in the 200 block of North Point Blvd. between Feb. 16 and 27 and stole a compressed air-operated truck lift valued at nearly $2,000. The burglary was reported Monday.

Theft: At least 100 feet of copper down-spouting valued at nearly $1,000 was stolen between Friday and Monday from the side of Dundalk United Methodist Church in the 6900 block of Mornington Road.

Flimflam: An Eastfield couple gave $300 to a man Sunday after another man convinced them over the telephone that he was their nephew "Jack" and that he needed the money to buy his wife a gift. The voice on the phone told the couple he would send someone over to pick up the money.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered High's dairy store in the 13500 block of Long Green Pike in Glen Arm early Monday after breaking a window and stole more than $500 worth of state Lotto tickets.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A laptop computer, multispeed bike, car phone and sunglasses, all valued at more than $2,000, were stolen Sunday or Monday from the garage and a car parked in the garage of a house in the 1100 block of Fairbanks Drive in Timonium.
