Authorities have no suspect in fatal shooting

Police said yesterday that they have no suspect and know of no motive in the fatal shooting Saturday night of a Baltimore County man in Northeast Baltimore.

Lt. Ben Lieu of the homicide squad said Robert Bennett, 24, was shot several times just before midnight in a small municipal park in the 4000 block of Old York Road in the Pen Lucy neighborhood.

Lieu said Bennett, of Hyde Park Apartments in the 1000 block of Tace Drive in Essex, was found by Northern District police responding to a shooting report. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information about the slaying is asked to call the homicide squad at 410-396-2100.
