Richard Stevens named assistant vice president
Richard W. Stevens has been appointed assistant vice president of financial planning and investment services at FCNB Bank.
The new department was created to offer full-scale financial planning within the asset management and trust division.
The bank offers investment products through MDS Securities Inc., a full service broker/dealer and member of NASD/SIPC.
Stevens is a financial adviser and registered representative with 12 years experience.
He will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the department. He also will oversee the development of strategies that focus on enabling the individual to manage his finances and assets.
Stevens holds life and health insurance licenses in Maryland and other states and is pursuing designations are a certified financial planner, chartered life underwriter and chartered financial consultant. Michael M. Brohawn of Woodbine has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to use the CFP designation.
The designation identifies those who have met rigorous experience and ethical requirements, have successfully completed financial planning course work and passed a certification exam.
Brohawn has written articles for technical and feature magazines and has participated in writing two books on creating wealth. He also has discussed financial planning on WBAL radio.
He is affiliated with Hostetler and Associates in Columbia. He specializes in estate and financial planning for business owners, professionals and families.
