Baltimore County public schools, AT&T and Ericsson Mobile Phones will announce today the start of a school-safety program to provide free digital phones and wireless service to 11 schools.
The partners will provide two phones and 160 minutes of free airtime per month for use by school staff responsible for student safety, such as crossing guards, playground supervisors, parking lot attendants, security guards and field-trip chaperons.
