11 schools to receive free digital phones

Baltimore County public schools, AT&T and Ericsson Mobile Phones will announce today the start of a school-safety program to provide free digital phones and wireless service to 11 schools.

The partners will provide two phones and 160 minutes of free airtime per month for use by school staff responsible for student safety, such as crossing guards, playground supervisors, parking lot attendants, security guards and field-trip chaperons.

The 11 schools are Inverness Center, Meadowood Education Center, Norwood Elementary, Old Court Middle, Scotts Branch Elementary, Rosedale Center, Hebbville Elementary, Baltimore Highlands Elementary, Catonsville Center for Alternative Studies, Featherbed Lane Primary and Featherbed Lane Intermediate.
