County police arrested an Arnold teen-ager Tuesday and charged him with making a bomb threat at Broadneck High School last week.

The boy, 16, was charged with making a false report of a bomb. He was being held at Boy's Village in Cheltenham.

Police said school administrators found a threat scrawled on a bathroom wall about 9: 30 a.m. Feb 11. The school was evacuated and searched, but no devices or suspicious packages were found, police said.

This week, three witnesses told administrators about a boy who they said wrote the note, police said.

A Severn man has been charged with assault after his girlfriend was beaten with a miniature baseball bat and dragged down a flight of stairs Tuesday.

Shawnte N. Benning, 20, told police that she and Ibrahim L. Abdullah, 18, began arguing at her home in the 1700 block of Village Square Court about 6: 30 p.m. Benning was thrown against a wall, then onto a bed, and choked, police said.

Benning grabbed a miniature bat and began hitting her assailant on his back, but he took it from her, hit her on the face and thigh, and dragged her down a flight of stairs, police said.

He then left the house, and Benning called police. She was treated at North Arundel Hospital for bruises and a bloodied nose.

Abdullah, of the 7800 block of Statesman St., went to the Northern District station with his mother about 8 p.m. to turn himself in.
