National Aquarium names Peebles to head development

The National Aquarium in Baltimore appointed Ann E. Peebles senior director of development for the Inner Harbor attraction. The Timonium resident was formerly with the Maryland Science Center in a similar capacity. She is active in several professional organizations, including the National Society for Fund Raising Executives and the American Association of Museums.

Simply Elegant Catering promotes Kirby in sales

Simply Elegant Catering named Laura Kirby corporate director of sales, off-premises catering division. Before joining the Owings Mills-based firm as sales manager for its Grey Rock Mansion facility, the Westminster resident was general manager for the Towson-based event planner Plan On Us.

Gray appoints Walpert to public relations job

Gray, Kirk/VanSant appointed Jarrod Walpert as a public relations senior account executive for the Baltimore-based advertising and public relations firm. Formerly with Image Dynamics, the Towson University graduate resides in Owings Mills.

Malis Goldstrom Hopson taps O'Brien, Tildon

Malis Goldstrom Hopson (MGH) selected Michael O'Brien and Charles G. Tildon as vice presidents for the Pikesville-based ad agency.

O'Brien, previously director of marketing and public relations with the Kennedy Krieger Institute, joined the firm as vice president for public relations and integrated marketing. The University of Delaware graduate is a resident of Arnold.

Tildon will act as a management supervisor. The former president of Conquest Communications Consulting Group, he is founding board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and active in Associated Black Charities.

Otsuka American appoints three vice presidents

Otsuka American Pharmaceutical, of Rockville, announced the following vice presidential appointments: John Russell, distribution, trade relations and state government affairs; Larry Somerville, sales; and Joann Armitage, marketing.

Russell, a Bethesda resident, was previously with Eli Lilly & Co. Somerville was formerly in sales and marketing with Boehinger Mannheim Corp. Armitage, with 17 years in the pharmaceutical industry, was formerly the firm's director of marketing.
