A Westminster woman active in local soccer and baseball and at the YMCA will fill a vacancy on the city's Parks Board.

Kathleen O'Loughlin of West Green Street, a Western Maryland College graduate and mother of two children, was nominated by the mayor and unanimously approved by the Westminster Common Council Monday night.

At the mayor's suggestion, her term will run for two years from Feb. 28, which would have been the expiration of the term of her predecessor, who resigned.
