Pointer leaves Providence for Coppin Walbrook alum Jenifer scores 61 for BCCC

Kofi Pointer, a former second-team All-Metro performer at Southern High in Baltimore, has transferred from Providence to Coppin State.

As a freshman, he played 14 games for a Providence squad that fell one win short of the Final Four. The 6-foot-8 forward played in one exhibition game this past fall before suffering a back injury. He must sit out until the end of the 1998 fall semester.

Pointer averaged 14.9 points and 16.5 rebounds as a senior at Southern, helping the Bulldogs win the 4A state title and finish No. 10 nationally .

BCCC: Anton Jenifer, a Walbrook graduate, scored a season-high 61 points as Baltimore City Community College defeated host Charles Community College, 131-108.

He hit five three-pointers and was 22-for-33 from the field for Baltimore (13-5).
