Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Western District

Shooting: A 27-year-old man was in the 800 block of N. Appleton St. about 1: 35 a.m. yesterday when a maroon van driven by a woman stopped and two men got out of the vehicle firing handguns, hitting the man in the left shoulder. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police said the shooting was drug-related.

Assault: A man was in the 1800 block of Braddish Ave. on Monday when another man struck him with a baseball bat, breaking two ribs. The victim was treated at Bon Secours Hospital.

Eastern District

Assault/arrest: A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday and charged with hitting his girlfriend in the face with his fist and striking her on the left arm with a baseball bat during an incident in the 1000 block of N. Broadway. The woman refused medical treatment.

Robbery: Three men attacked a 32-year-old man in the 1200 block of N. Milton Ave. on Monday and took his jacket, valued at nearly $100.

Southern District

Assault: A female resident of the 1700 block of McHenry St. answered a knock at her door Monday night and was threatened by two men, one with a handgun. The men fled when another occupant arrived at the door.

Northern District

Theft: A man left the Giant food market in the 700 block of W. 40th St. on Monday without paying for batteries valued at nearly $45.

Stolen car: A gray 1993 Jeep Cherokee with Texas tags JMF 65V was stolen Monday in the 700 block of Cedarcroft Road.

Essex Precinct

Burglary/arrests: Officer Phil Winkler was responding to a burglary in the 2100 block of Vailthorn Road on Monday when he spotted two men seated in a car nearby. They fit the descriptions of two men who entered the home but fled when the occupant confronted them. Arrested by Winkler and charged with burglary are Erick Manuel Barahona, 24, of the 1800 block of N. Broadway, Baltimore, and Cesar E. Guzman, 26, of the first block of Hogarth Circle, Cockeysville. Each was being held on a $10,000 bond at the county Detention Center.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder, cash and 47 compact discs were stolen Monday from a house in the 1200 block of Windsail Road by someone who entered through the front door.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: A 32-inch television valued at $800 was stolen Monday from a house in the 11400 block of Long Green Pike by someone who broke a window in a screen door.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Stereo equipment, compact discs, videotapes and power and hand tools, all valued at more than $700, were stolen Sunday from a house in the 10100 block of Charington Road by someone who entered through a rear sliding glass door. The burglary was reported Monday.

Suspects in robberies arrested: rested: A couple charged in ** warrants with armed street robberies and carjackings in midtown XTC Baltimore in December and earlier this month were arrested about 6 p.m. yesterday in the 2500 block of W. Franklin St. in a 1995 Nissan Maxima reported stolen Jan. 22 in the city. Held at the Central Booking and Intake Center are Robert Lane, 32, of the 2900 block The Alameda, and Janet Hope King, 29, of the 2900 block of Hillen Road.
