Commissioners to discuss plan for agriculture building

The Carroll County Commissioners will hold a public information meeting on the proposed agriculture exhibition building at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Burns Hall at the Carroll County Agriculture Center.

The Carroll County delegation and Agriculture Center Board will also attend the meeting.

Haines plans public hearing to look at legislation

Sen. Larry E. Haines, a 5th District Republican, will hold a public hearing to discuss proposed legislation in the General Assembly at 9 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Senior Center.

Sweater donations sought for public television drive

Maryland Public Television is asking Carroll County residents to participate in the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive to collect sweaters for the needy to mark Mister Rogers' Neighborhood's 30th anniversary.

Area residents may bring sweaters to any McDonald's in the county Friday and Feb. 1. Sweaters will be distributed through United Way participants.

Participating McDonald's restaurants are in Westminster, Eldersburg (Liberty Road and Wal-Mart) and Hampstead.
