January 21, 1998

County police arrested a 19-year-old man Sunday on drug charges at his room at the Hampton Inn, in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.

Police charged Nathan Curtis Galyon, who has no fixed address, with possession of heroin and marijuana.

Police have periodically kept a close watch on the hotel after numerous calls from neighbors and hotel managers reporting drug deals in and near the building.

Officers searched Gaylon's room just before 7 a.m. after receiving a tip and found drugs and $1,139, police said.

Police find no bomb after threat to bank

A man called the Bank of Glen Burnie, in the 100 block of Crain Highway, just after noon Friday and told the clerk that because he was angry about the bank's denial of his loan application, he had put a bomb in the bank that would go off any minute, police said.

Bank employees called police after evacuating the building. Police dogs found no bomb.
