Westminster High meetings on course selection planned

Westminster High School has scheduled three meetings with parents to discuss course selections for the 1998-1999 school year.

The first meeting, for parents of current 11th-grade students, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The second meeting, for parents of current ninth- and 10th-grade students, will be at 8 p.m. Jan. 29. Prior to the meeting, a Meet the Teacher Night will be held at 6: 30 p.m.

The final meeting will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 12, for parents of eighth-grade students who will enter Westminster High next fall.

Parent conferences for the second semester of this school year will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on March 5.

30 residents complain of thefts from vehicles

More than 30 Westminster residents told police that property was stolen from their vehicles Saturday, Sunday or yesterday. .

Many of the vehicles were unlocked and parked along Ridge Road, Sullivan Avenue, Lucabaugh Mill Road or in the Autumn Ridge development off Sullivan Road, state police said.

Property stolen included money, car phones, purses, a pistol and a shotgun, police said.

Police

Westminster: A resident of Old Hanover Road told police that property was stolen from his home between 5: 30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday. The loss was estimated at $3,550.

Westminster: A resident of Lucabaugh Mill Road told police that about 150 compact discs were stolen from a home under construction between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday. The loss was estimated at $2,250.
