Loyola women rally from down 11, edge Iona State

Mary Anne Kirsch scored 17 points and Jina Mosley added 10 as Loyola (11-4, 6-1) overcame an 11-point deficit to defeat Iona (4-10, 3-3), 49-46, yesterday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at Reitz Arena.

It was the Greyhounds' ninth win in 10 games.

Johns Hopkins 77, Carnegie-Mellon 51: Julie Anderson had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to lead the host Blue Jays (12-2) over the Tartans (6-6) in a nonconference game.

Men's basketball

Johns Hopkins 65, Carnegie-Mellon 47: Greg Roehrig scored 18 to lead the Blue Jays (10-4) to a nonconference win.

The visiting Tartans (5-9) made just four field goals in the second half.
