75 years ago: The Annapolis post office has received notice of the issuance of a new 1-cent stamp in honor of Benjamin Franklin, the first postmaster-general. None will be sent until the present supply of the 1-cent domination has been exhausted. -- The Sun, Jan. 5, 1923.

State Comptroller Gordy has announced the first quarterly distribution of monies for 1923 for public school purposes. The total is more than $710,000 with Anne Arundel portion $21,991.54. -- The Sun, Jan. 10, 1923.
