Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Western District

Robbery try/shooting: A 21-year-old man was standing outside a carryout shop in the 2000 block of Edmondson Ave. about 2 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman demanded his money and shot him in the upper right leg. The victim was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center and released.

Theft/arrest: A woman was arrested after she tried to leave Stop, Shop & Save supermarket in the 2300 block of Liberty Heights Ave. on Wednesday without paying for baby formula, food and fruit juice, all valued at $44.

Southern District

Robbery: A gunman robbed a man of jewelry worth more than $300 in the 300 block of S. Stricker St. about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Southwestern District

Burglary: Fireplace equipment, a furnace and a thermostat, all valued at more than $4,000, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2000 block of Hollins St.

Stolen car: A four-door gold colored 1990 Ford with tags ETG 316 was stolen Wednesday in the 300 block of Martingale Ave.

Northern District

Stolen car: A suspected car thief was shot yesterday after a Baltimore County officer was struck by the vehicle during a traffic stop in Pimlico. After police stopped the stolen Jeep in the 4100 block of Pimlico Road about 4 p.m., the driver backed up and struck a member of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force, injuring the officer's leg. Two officers fired at the Jeep as it sped east in the 2700 block of Oswego Ave., hitting the driver in the left arm. Minutes later, police stopped the Jeep at Towanda and Springhill avenues and arrested the driver. The officer and the driver were treated at Sinai Hospital.

Robbery: A deliveryman for Northwest Pharmacy in the 4400 block of Park Heights Ave. was returning to his vehicle after making a delivery in the 3900 block of Cottage Ave. about 7: 30 p.m. Wednesday when he was grabbed by a man who robbed him of $80.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and a combination television-VCR, all valued at $700, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4000 block of Wilsby Ave.

Burglary: Fifty videotaped movies valued at $500 were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 600 block of Gorsuch Ave.

Stolen car: A 1980 Toyota Camry with tags XJC 899 was stolen XTC Wednesday in the 600 block of Stonington Drive.

Theft from vehicle: Someone entered a 1990 Ford Aerostar van parked in the 700 block of E. 43rd St. on Wednesday and stole an AM-FM cassette radio, stereo speakers and a pair of gold-rimmed eyeglasses.

Parkville Precinct

Robbery: Police were seeking two teen-age males who entered a Texaco service station in the 8400 block of Harford Road through a door Wednesday and stole an unknown quantity of cigarettes, a coin collection box and an auto battery, all valued at more than $1,000.

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: A 40-year-old woman was in the 7100 block of Liberty Road about 6 p.m. Wednesday when a man armed with a knife placed the weapon to her neck and robbed her of her purse containing $100. The woman was not injured.

Robbery: A gunman robbed Sally's Beauty Salon in the 500 block of Reisterstown Road in Pikesville of more than $100 about 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Wilkens Precinct

Burglary: A silver set valued at $6,000 and a videocassette recorder valued at $300 were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 600 block of Warwick Road.
