Public works bond reduced for Boulder Hill

January 15, 1998

Sykesville Town Council has reduced the public works bond for Boulder Hill Estates to $78,200, the minimum amount to complete remaining roads and other infrastructure in the 30-lot subdivision on Oklahoma Road.

J & B Construction, owned by John Serra, posted a $391,000 bond for the development when building started nearly three years ago. All but a few lots have been sold.

Bill Oler, town building inspector, and Bob Bond, the town engineer, visited the subdivision recently and recommended reducing the $391,000 bond.

"Both feel that $78,200 will be enough to complete any remaining work," said Matthew H. Candland, town manager.
