Albert C. Wenzing Jr., 66, grocery dairy manager

Albert C. Wenzing Jr., who worked for 45 years as a dairy manager for Super Fresh grocery stores, died of cancer Friday at his Pikesville residence. He was 66.

He began his grocery career in 1947 as a clerk for Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., now known as Super Fresh, in Pikesville. He later worked at the Belvedere Avenue store in Northwest Baltimore and retired from the Reisterstown store in 1992.

The West Baltimore native, who was educated in city schools, was a member of the Maryland National Guard's 29th Division and was discharged with the rank of sergeant.

He was a Red Cross volunteer, enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and collected coins and World War II memorabilia.

Services were held yesterday.

He is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Carroll; three daughters, Deborah Hudson of Owings Mills, Charlotte Pellicot of Parkville and Catherine Wenzing of Pikesville; his mother, Helen Wenzing of Bel Air; a brother, Preston Wenzing of Parkville; a sister, Virginia Evans of Bel Air; and three grandchildren.
