Two men carrying handguns robbed a gas station Friday night, county police said.

Two clerks on duty just after 10 p.m. at a Sunoco station at Skidmore Drive and Whitehall Road told police one of the robbers ordered them to lie on the floor as the other went behind the counter and emptied the cash register, taking an unknown amount of money. The robbers ran out the back of the store, police said.

A police dog was unable to follow a trail past a nearby parking lot.

A man threw a cement block through the front door of an Annapolis convenience store and gas station early Sunday, threatened the clerk and made off with an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.

Robert Kapoor, 38, a clerk at the Paceway store in the 100 block of Solomons Island Road, told police the robber shattered the front door about 4 a.m. and said he would kill him if he did not open the cash register. Police said Kapoor opened the register.

The man did not appear to have a weapon, the clerk told police.
