Brooklyn Park teen pleads guilty in assault

A Brooklyn Park teen-ager pleaded guilty yesterday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court to first-degree assault and was sentenced to 18 months in jail for shooting at two people.

Judge Clayton R. Greene Jr. also ordered Justin Matthew Tarantino, 17, of the 4200 block of Belle Grove Road to spend five years on probation. If he does not successfully complete probation, he can be ordered to serve up to another 18 months in jail.

Prosecutors dropped five lesser charges stemming from the same incident in the 900 block of Victory Ave. June 8.

The youth, who has a juvenile criminal record, also has a March 3 trial date on 11 drug counts.
