Mike Powell scored 33 to lead Loyola past St. Peter's College, 86-75, yesterday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at Reitz Arena.
Powell also had seven rebounds and three assists. Roderick Platt added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Greyhounds (4-7, 2-1). Jason Rowe had 22 points.
For the Peacocks (4-7, 0-3), Jamar Hunter and Ricky Bellinger each had 24 points. Jake Holmes scored 12 and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Loyola led 34-32 at the half. A 12-2 run, with four points each from Powell and Rowe, gave the Greyhounds an 84-68 lead with 35 seconds remaining.
The Greyhounds rebounded from an 89-67 loss to Rutgers on Tuesday. Rutgers held Powell to 18, about eight less than his scoring average entering the game. He and backcourt mate Rowe combined to shoot 14-for-31.
Yesterday, they shot 18-for-32, including 5-for-10 on three-pointers.
