Gunman robs Martin's store in Eldersburg

A lone gunman robbed a cashier at Martin's Food Store in Eldersburg Thursday night, Maryland State Police at Westminster reported. No arrest had been made by yesterday.

According to witnesses, a man entered the store in the 6300 block of Georgetown Blvd. and stood in the checkout line with other customers. About 8: 55 p.m., he displayed a handgun, and the cashier gave him an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Fire

Gamber: Firefighters responded at 1: 57 p.m. Thursday to arcing wires on Klee Mill Road. Units were out 16 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 8: 24 a.m. Thursday to a fire alarm in the 7200 block of Old Washington Road. Units were out 30 minutes.

Gamber: Firefighters responded at 8: 12 p.m. Wednesday to a fire alarm in the 900 block of Liberty Road. Units were out 30 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 8: 11 p.m. Wednesday to a house fire in the 7600 block of Gaither Road. Units were out 30 minutes.
