MPT names Harvey Arnold to oversee engineering

Maryland Public Television appointed Harvey Arnold vice president of engineering. The University of Wisconsin graduate will oversee technical operations and transmission systems.

Formerly associate director of engineering with the University of North Carolina Center for Public Television, he is a member of the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers and the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He has won several industry awards.

Acme Paper & Supply hires McKennie for sales staff

Acme Paper & Supply Co., the Savage-based food service and industrial maintenance supply house, named Ellis McKennie a sales representative for the Baltimore metropolitan region of its janitorial maintenance division.

A Randallstown resident, he graduated from George Washington University and played professional basketball in Europe.

Valerie Breslow appointed at Profiles

Profiles Inc. appointed Valerie Breslow as an account supervisor for the Hampden-based advertising and public relations agency.

She will develop and implement strategic marketing programs for various industry clients, including food service, hospitality, education and health care.

Formerly a senior account executive with Gray, Kirk VanSant, the Pikesville resident is a graduate of Goucher College.

Leslie Isom joins MGH as associate and executive

MGH Advertising announced that Leslie Isom has joined the Baltimore-based agency as a planning associate and account executive.

A graduate of Ohio State University, Isom formerly headed the public education efforts of the Humane Society of the United States.

Spencer named manager of 1st Mariner downtown

1st Mariner Bank named Wayne Spencer a vice president and manager of the bank's downtown branch office, with responsibility for branch sales and operations, staff training and business development. Formerly with Stegman & Co., he is an MBA graduate of Hood College. Spencer lives in Frederick.

Health care

Linda Piraino is selected as HCA vice president

HealthCare Automation Inc. named Linda Piraino vice president of network services. A registered nurse, she is an MBA graduate of the University of Baltimore and formerly was a senior manager with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of New York. She will oversee management utilization, claims processing, financial management and information systems.
