Mike Bechtold had 27 points and 15 rebounds to help Lebanon defeat No. 8 Calvert Hall, 60-53, yesterday in a Slam Dunk to the Beach Shootout boys basketball game in Lewes, Del.

Lebanon outshot Calvert Hall 15-5 from the foul line. Junior Reggie Bryant scored 27 points while senior Freddie Biggs added 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for the Cardinals.

No. 16 Loyola 45, Middle Township (N.J.) 40: Senior Reggie Gray scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Dons to a Slam Dunk to the Beach Sunday Shootout win over Middle Township (N.J.).

Loyola came back from a 12-point halftime deficit to earn the five-point victory. Senior Brian Cosgrove scored 12 points while junior Mike Bosica added 11 for the Dons.

Vestal (N.Y.) 56, No. 10 Spalding 51: Vestal shot 23-for-31 from the line to defeat the Cavaliers in a Stop-DWI Holiday Classic game in New York.

Jeff Taylor scored a game-high 26 points for the Golden Bears. Sophomore Tremaine Robinson and junior Chris Masters scored nine points each for Spalding.


No. 6 Roland Park 63, Parkview (La.) 24: Stasia Thomas scored a game-high 11 points to lead the Reds to a victory over Parkview in the Shake & Bake Tournament in New Orleans.

The win puts Roland Park in the championship round against pool winner Fontainebleau (La.) today. Freshman Kelsey Twist had nine points and Meghan Kelly, Betsy Gaines and Lauren Miller each scored eight points for the Reds.
