A Severn woman was assaulted and robbed early Wednesday as she was walking near the Pioneer Food Market on Reece Road in West County.

A man approached Diana Lynn Mitchell, 27, of the 8000 block of Deer Run Court and told her to give him her money, police reports indicate. Mitchell refused and the man pushed her to the ground, hitting her in the face and arm. He then took an unknown amount of money from her pocket and ran away.

Mitchell was treated at North Arundel Hospital. Police have no suspects.
