Tops in Sports to honor F. Howard

Frank Howard will receive the Retro-Active Babe Ruth Crown at the 45th annual Tops In Sports baseball banquet Jan. 23 at the Towson Center at Towson University.

Howard, the National League Rookie of the Year with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1960, had his greatest years with the Washington Senators, leading the American League in home runs in 1968 and 1970 with 44, and hitting 48 in 1969.

Former Chicago White Sox player Minnie Minoso will be honored for his six decades in the major leagues. Minoso had a lifetime batting average of .298 with 186 homers and 1,023 RBIs.
