Simon C. D. Williams, 59, McCorquodale Holdings CEO

Simon C. D. Williams, a former Green Spring Valley resident and chairman and chief executive officer of McCorquodale Holdings Inc., died of cancer Nov. 10 at Royal Marsden Hospital in London. He was 59.

Mr. Williams came to Baltimore in 1976 to oversee the U.S. interests of the worldwide specialty printer and publishing company that includes Falconer Check Printers in Towson and McCorquodale's Color Cards in Whiteford.

In 1987, after the company was taken over in a contested battle, he moved to the Isle of Man, between Northern Ireland and England.

Services were held Nov. 17.

He is survived by his wife, Philippa Williams; two sons, Marcus Williams of Washington and Alexander Williams of London; a brother, Steven Williams of Baltimore; and his mother, Patricia Williams of the Isle of Man.
