Association to sponsor exchange with French city

The Columbia Association will sponsor a Business to Business Exchange with its sister city, Cergy-Pontoise, in France from March 7 to 14.

The exchange will include a seminar on doing business in France, meetings with French companies, conferences, visits to business parks, the Chamber of Commerce and tour of Cergy-Pontoise and Paris.

Three Howard County businesses developed relationships with French companies through last year's exchange.

All types of businesses are welcome to participate.

Cergy-Pontoise is 25 minutes from Paris.

Law firm awards contract to Project Marketing

The law firm of Clark, Rapaport and Skalny LLC has awarded a contract to Project Marketing of New Market to manage marketing and public relations for the firm.

Project Marketing will pursue writing opportunities and speaking engagements for the firm's principals, and will assist in developing the firm's marketing materials and corporate positioning.

Harmony Hall reopens its Respite Center

Harmony Hall Retirement Community in Columbia has announced the reopening of its Respite Center.

The center provides care to seniors who are in need of alternate short-term living arrangements. Care is provided in a furnished studio apartment in the Harmony Hall community, and includes three meals daily, housekeeping service, 24-hour nurse's aide staffing and nursing supervision, when necessary.

County committee seeks nominations for awards

The Howard County Economic Development Authority's Equal Business Opportunity Committee is seeking nominations for the fourth annual EBO awards program, which will be held Feb. 26 at the Columbia Inn.

The awards honor outstanding contributions and achievements of the county's minority business community.
