Making party plans for New Year's Eve

What are you doing New Year's Eve? There's still time to dust off your glad rags and plan an evening of dinner and dancing at one of the following hotels and catering halls. Don't wait to make reservations; at places serving seated dinners, the best time slots are sure to be taken early.

Ashtin Golt will be banging out Top 40 hits at Martin's West, 6817 Dogwood Road, Woodlawn. The gala runs from 9: 30 p.m. to 2: 30 a.m. Buffet, open bar, champagne toast and party favors. $65 for parties of 10 or more; $68 otherwise. Marriott's Hunt Valley Inn, 245 Shawan Road, is holding a party that includes seated dinner in the Cinnamon Tree Restaurant (two seatings, 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.), wines, cash bar and entertainment in the Paddock Lounge. $99 a couple. Harbor Court Hotel's New Year's Ball runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, six-course dinner, cash bar and free champagne toast. Black tie optional. $125 a person. The Hyatt Regency Baltimore, 300 Light St., is offering three dance bands at its New Year's Eve gala -- Big Dog Band, the Crawdaddies and Klassix -- plus a disc jockey, a buffet dinner from 8 p.m. to midnight, open bar from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., a view of the Inner Harbor fireworks, a champagne toast at midnight and party favors. $99 a person. New Year's Eve at the Belvedere takes place in five locations. Swing in the New Year in the Charles Room with the Rhumba Club. Open bar, cocktail buffet, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., $50 a person. The John Eager Howard Room's four-course wine dinner will be accompanied by the music of pianist Stef Scaggiari, 8: 30 p.m. to 12: 30 a.m., $95 a person. The Grand Ballroom is featuring cocktails, open bar, seated dinner, champagne, party favors and dance music by the Pat Wolfe Orchestra, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., $85 a person. The 13th Floor will offer music by Jump Street, an open bar and hors d'oeuvres, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., $60 a person.
