Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County.

Ellicott City: 8300 block of Governor Kent Terrace: A thief entered a home under construction by forcing open a basement window and removed 280 feet of copper piping Sunday or Monday.

Long Reach: 9100 Lambskin Lane: Someone entered a home by prying open the front door and stole cash, a 9-mm rifle and a compact disc player.

Owen Brown: 8900 block of McGaw Court: Someone entered the Tristate Electrical Supply warehouse between Saturday and Monday by punching out the lock and forcing the door open. The thieves pried open an office door, ransacked the office and stole $508 and a television.

Harper's Choice: 11700 Morning Mist Lane: A thief opened a garage and stole several items from a parked car about 2: 30 a.m. yesterday.

Harper's Choice: 10900 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: A thief entered several rooms at Howard County Community College and stole cash and postage stamps about 7: 40 a.m. Monday.

Woodstock: 13900 Old Frederick Road: A thief entered a home through an unlocked front window, ransacked the home and stole a clock radio Sunday or Monday.
