Woman, 67, is killed, two others injured in two-car collision in Ellicott City

A 67-year-old woman was killed and two people injured yesterday in a two-car collision at Old Frederick Road and Tiller Drive in Ellicott City, Howard County police said.

Police said Pauline Enid Hibbard, of the 2600 block of Thornbrook Road in Ellicott City was operating a 1995 Toyota Tercel on Tiller Drive about 3: 38 p.m. when she stopped for a stop sign at Old Frederick Road.

Upon entering the intersection, Hibbard's car was struck on the driver's side by a 1989 Toyota Cressida that was westbound on Old Frederick, police said.

Hibbard was airlifted by state police helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she died shortly after arrival.

The driver of the Cressida, Jia Yuh Ju, 18, of the 3200 block of Normandy Woods Drive in Ellicott City, and a juvenile passenger suffered minor injuries and were treated at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and released.

Police are investigating the accident.
