Federal agents arrested seven people at three Annapolis-area restaurants yesterday and charged them as illegal aliens.

Agents from the Immigration and Naturalization Service raided the Old Country Buffet in the Hechinger shopping center on Forest Drive, Fuddruckers on Jennifer Road and California Pizza Kitchen at Annapolis Mall between 11 a.m. and noon, an INS spokesman said.

Four men, one teen-age boy and two women, all from Guatemala and El Salvador, were arrested. One woman and the youth were released on their own recognizance.

INS detectives, who began their investigations of the restaurant employees after receiving a tip, are looking into the restaurants' hiring practices as a result of the arrests.
