Two-year sentence reinstated after man violates probation

December 11, 1997

A Reisterstown man who served one year of a three-year sentence for a 1995 theft conviction had the remaining two years reinstated yesterday after he was found guilty of violating his probation.

Steven M. Meyer, 36, of Cockeys Mill Road pleaded guilty July 14, 1995, to entering a Sykesville home through an unlocked garage door and stealing property, court records show.

Meyer has not paid restitution of $395 and failed to report to his probation agent as directed, prompting Circuit Judge Raymond E. Beck Sr. to reimpose the balance of the original sentence.

Fire

Sykesville: Firefighters from Gamber, Winfield and Liberty Road in Baltimore County assisted Sykesville at 7: 14 a.m. Tuesday, responding to a natural gas leak in the 1700 block of St. Andrews Way. Units were out 30 minutes.
