Holiday Inn Columbia wins firm's highest awards

Holiday Inn Columbia in Jessup has received the Holiday Hospitality Torchbearer Award, the company's highest award for service and facilities.

The award was presented during a ceremony at the annual Holiday Hospitality Worldwide Conference in Nashville, Tenn.

Mark Stielper, general manager since 1979, accepted the award.

The hotel was also recognized for its renovation program with the 1997 Modernization Award, and was chosen to receive a Quality Excellence Award.

It is the first time in the 45-year history of the Holiday Inn system that a hotel received all three of the awards in the same year.

Holiday Inn Columbia has been locally owned and managed since it opened in 1974.

Party Party Party moves to larger space in center
