Thompson, Tristar Martial Arts win national awards

Keith Thompson, owner of Tristar Martial Arts Academy in Eldersburg, recently was honored by the U.S. Martial Arts

Association at its annual convention.

He received the 1997 Best New School Award and Highest Student Retention Rate Award, both given to the top martial arts schools in the country.

Chuck Norris, the actor and founder of the Kick Drugs Out of America Foundation, also gave Thompson and Tristar an award for raising more than $1,300 for the organization. To celebrate, Thompson is offering a month of free lessons to the first 25 callers not currently enrolled in a Tristar program.
